Florida Pick 4 FAQs

What is Pick 4?
Pick 4 is a popular lottery game played in Florida, and many other states. However, each state has its own independent draws, and other small changes, so it's important that you're looking up the answers for your own state! Players can win up to $5,000 twice a day, by matching all four winning numbers, which can be anything from 0000 to 9999.
When are the Pick 4 draws scheduled?
Pick 4 drawings take place twice daily – the Midday draw is at 1:30 PM and the Evening draw is at 9:45 PM (ET).
Is there a cutoff time for ticket sales?
Yes – for upcoming Midday draws, you must have your ticket purchased before 1:20 PM on the day of the draw. For the Evening draws, the cutoff time is 9:35 PM (ET). Tickets purchased after this cutoff will be entered into the following draw.
How do you win Pick 4?

What are the different play types?
IN Florida Pick 4, the player gets to choose how they play (and win!) The available play types are Straight, Box, Straight/Box, Combo, and Pairs. On top of this, you selecting duplicate numbers for certain play types can also change the odds and prizes for your play. Visit our

How much do Pick 4 tickets cost?
For each Straight, Box, and Pair plays, players can wager either $0.50, or $1. The only difference is that the prizes for $1 tickets are twice the size of the $0.50 prizes. For Straight/Box plays, the price is always $1. For Combo plays, things are a bit different – tickets can cost from $2 to $24. Find out why by heading to the

How much can I win playing Pick 4?
The top prize in Florida Pick 4 is $5,000, which you can win with a $1 Straight ticket. You could also win the $5,000 with a Combo play – this would have better odds, but cost more. It's up to the player to decide! There are lots of other prizes, which you can check on our

What are the odds of winning Pick 4?

Is there an age limit for playing Pick 4?
Yes – you must be at least 18 to play any lottery in the state of Florida, including Pick 4.
Are Pick 4 prizes taxed?
Yes – any winnings of $600 or more must be declared to the IRS.
Can you buy Pick 4 tickets in advance?
Yes – you can use the Advance Play option on your playslip to enter your numbers and play type in up to 14 consecutive drawings.
Will my Pick 4 prizes be taxed?
Yes, when doing your taxes, prizes of $600 or more must be reported. If you've won the $5,000 top prize, taxes are withheld automatically when the prize payment is made.
How can I claim Pick 4 winnings?
Prizes up to $600 can be claimed from any authorized Florida Lottery retailer. For prizes greater than $600, you'll have to make an appointment at a Florida Lottery District Office and make your claim there, in-person. Winners can also make their claim by mail, regardless of the size of the prize. Read more about prize claims on our

When do Pick 4 tickets expire?
Prizes must be claimed within 180 days of the ticket's draw date. After 180 days, the ticket will expire, and prizes cannot be redeemed.
What happens if my ticket has been damaged, stolen, or lost?
Unfortunately, not much can be done if you don't have your ticket – without it, you won't be able to claim any prizes. You should report any thefts to your local law enforcement, and for damaged tickets, the Florida Lottery may still entertain a claim if it is still mostly legible, but we wouldn't count on it.
You could always try playing Pick 4 online! That way, your tickets can never be lost, damaged, or stolen.
